Chaplin Family
I got interested by this reddit post about Charlie Chaplin's surviving son and went up and read a few Wikipedia pages. This is some of the interesting things I found.
- Charlie Chaplin's manager is his half-brother Sydney Chaplin, who initially was more successful than his brother on stage performances. Seems like he was one of the driving factor for his brother's success as he started acting first and brought Charlie to the stage. Charlie Chaplin has a son named after him.
- Hannah Chaplin, Charlie Chaplin's mother, used to be somewhat famous in the stage scene, until she suffered mental issues from Syphilis. She was forced into prostitution in South Africa by some guy (Sydney Chaplin's biological father). She later returns to Europe and marries Charles Chaplin (Charlie Chaplin's father).
- Charlie Chaplin and Sydney Chaplin have one more half-brother Wheeler Dryden. He was removed as an infant and was brought up separately by his father because of Hannah Chaplin's mental issues. He did not know about his half-brothers till he was in his 20s and went to the US to meet up with them. He later assisted and acted in Chaplin movies.
- Charlie Chaplin's real name is Charles Spencer Chaplin. He married four times, and has a bunch of children. Lots of models, film makers and actors among them.
- His fourth wife, Oona O'Neill, is the daughter of American playwright Eugene O'Neill and Agnes Boulton.
- Robb Stark's wife from Game of Thrones is played by Charlie Chaplin's granddaughter, Oona Chaplin, named after her grandmother. There's one more Oona Chaplin among Charlie Chaplin's grandchildren.
